Environmental Services Manager

The purpose of the Environment Services Manager at the Health Care Center is to oversee all aspects of the facilities and to provide supervision/guidance to the HCC building, grounds, laundry and housekeeping services and environmental services staff.

 

Essential Duties

 

  • Interview, hire, train, and maintain adequate staff for the environmental department, including emergencies.
  • Schedule, supervise and coordinate work assignments for staff.
  • Conduct fair and accurate and timely performance evaluations for staff.
  • Conduct and ensure fair and consistent discipline are administered for environmental department staff according to department and county policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with labor laws.
  • Review and approve department payroll.
  • Conduct routine department meetings. 
  • Direct and monitor the performance of the day-to-day completion of the maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance on Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) by lubricating motors and belts, changing filters, repairing boilers, equipment, vehicles and other building systems, etc.
  • Assure completeness and effectiveness of all facility maintenance, housekeeping and laundry programs.
  • Participate in facility Quality Assurance and Process Improvement (QAPI) program, develop Process Improvement Plans (PIP) and auditing systems to monitor quality assurance and process improvement.
  • Regulate and ensure compliance in all areas related to environmental services.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor construction repair projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee project management activities with outside contractors to ensure equipment meets and contractors met compliance standards.
  • Plan, prepare and maintain accountability for the building/grounds, housekeeping and laundry annual budget for the Health Care Center.
  • Recommend and assist with capital budget process for equipment and building improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable and functional environment by assessing the facility/grounds for potential hazards while implementing safety practices when necessary.
  • Work in conjunction with local municioalities to ensure all areas of campus are kept safe.
  • Investigate and report all incidents and accidents occurring on the facility grounds.
  • Assist with the implementation and training of staff on safety guidelines.
  • Evaluate and monitor facilities equipment to ensure the functionality and safety of staff and residents.

Required Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.  Please note these hours are subject to change and additional hours may be needed or required.  Compensation for additional hours beyond normal working hours are subject to applicable state and federal regulations.

 

Minimum Training and Education

 

Required:                    

Associate degree or technical diploma in building maintenance, electrical, or another related field

Prior supervisory experience, 3-5 years of facility maintenance and janitorial experience

License:                       

Valid Wisconsin State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License

Preferred:                    

Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
