Movement Rooted in Love Day
The Movement Rooted in Love Day will take place on the federal holiday and national day of service that commemorates the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event's theme is Infinite Hope, inspired by these words from Dr. King: "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."
The 10-hour event will include community service activities from 9AM to 4PM in the church's fellowship hall, a free soup lunch for anyone who wishes to drop in at 12 Noon, and a free concert with speakers and music at 6PM in the church's sanctuary. Community service activities will include baking and delivering cookies for first responders and residents of Hope House and Pathway Home, making sleeping mats from grocery bags for our unhoused neighbors, helping in the Neighborly free clothing store in the church's basement, making traveling pieces of community art, sharing blessing bags of winter hats, mittens and scarves throughout the community, and much more.
Donations of toilet paper for the Baraboo Food Pantry and nonperishable food items for veterans will be gratefully collected throughout the event.
