Glacial Lakes in the Baraboo Area
Eric Carson (Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey) will discuss the mechanisms that drove the formation and drainage of a series of glacial lakes in the Baraboo area at the peak of the last glaciation (~25,000 years ago), when ice from the northeast over-ran the eastern Baraboo Range and blocked the Wisconsin River’s southward flow. Presented by Baraboo Range Preservation Association and co-sponsored by Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library
