Baraboo Buds Garden Club - Doug Tallamy Webinar
Baraboo Buds Garden Club is for gardeners of all experience levels in the Baraboo area. Our November meeting is at 7 PM on Thursday, November 10. Please note that the day and time are different than regularly scheduled meetings! We will meet in Room 12/14 of the Baraboo Civic Center, 124 2nd St., Baraboo.
At this meeting we will hold a viewing party of the Aldo Leopold Foundation's webinar with Doug Tallamy, "Restoring 'Good Oak' Communities." Doug Tallamy is a professor of wildlife ecology and entomology at the University of Delaware. His research focuses on how insects interact with plant communities, and he has written books on how people can restore biodiversity by planting native species in their home gardens.
From the Aldo Leopold Foundation: "What makes an oak tree “good”? Doug Tallamy demystifies the main player in Aldo Leopold’s “Good Oak” essay in A Sand County Almanac in his new book, The Nature of Oaks. Join Doug on November 10th at 7 PM CST to explore the importance of oaks in complex ecosystems and understand how YOU can contribute to their health in your natural communities." We're looking forward to sharing this viewing experience as a group.
