Chainsaw Safety Level 4
Mastering the basics of chainsaw safety is essential for woodland owners who want to be more active on their land. This course, certified through the Safety and Woods Worker (SAWW) training program, is the last in a four-level series. Under close supervision, participants will have the opportunity to fell at least one tree. You’ll also learn how to safely limb and buck trees felled for firewood or to improve a timber stand; minimize damage to logs that are taken from the woods; and techniques to improve efficiency while limbing and bucking. This is an advanced course; levels 1 to 3 are prerequisites to attend. The instructor, Nathan Stanford, has 18 years of chainsaw training experience. He serves as a certified trainer through SAWW and as a “C” certifier for the U.S. Forest Service. Class limit: 12
