Call of the Mild: Learning to Hunt My Own Dinner
Lily Raff McCaulou is a journalist based in Bend, Oregon whose writing has appeared in publications including The New York Times and The Atlantic. Her memoir, Call of the Mild: Learning to Hunt My Own Dinner, chronicles her path from non-hunter to hunting for wild food. It was named one of the best books of 2012 by The San Francisco Chronicle. McCaulou has written about everything from mushroom picking with chatty kids to last year’s solar eclipse to road tripping while packing heat. She has won numerous awards including a prestigious Knight-Wallace Fellowship at the University of Michigan. This free event is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
