The Sauk County Historical the Society will host an event for students to learn about archaeology! Participants will learn how to study the human past from professional archeologists. Four unique workstations will allow for hands-on learning to understand the importance of recovering artifacts, researching soils, mapping, and recording a site. The workshop team will be led by SCHS board member and local archaeologist Seth Taft and is geared for ages 8 through 13 years old. There will be two separate workshops with a maximum of 24 students in each session. The morning session is from 10 to 11:30 am, with the afternoon session from 1:30 to 3 pm. Registration cost is $5 per student. A parent or guardian must be present for the workshop. Preregistration at the Society website is required.
