Weeknight Crane Congregations
Learn about the sandhill cranes’ staging phenomenon in an informal, family-friendly setting led by our education and land stewardship fellows. For weeks before they take flight to migrate south, sandhill cranes gather in mass, by the thousands, on the islands and sandbars of the Wisconsin River. The Aldo Leopold Shack and Farm has become the region’s premier vantage point to experience the incredible sights and sounds of this wildlife spectacle. Witness the cranes up close in Leopold Country! This slightly condensed tour lasts about one and a half hours. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and water bottle. Cancellation: If plans change and you are unable to attend the crane tour for any reason, you may request to cancel your registration for a 100% refund up until 1 week before the scheduled date. We cannot issue refunds for cancellations less than 7 days before the tour.
