Sunday in the Cemetery - Living History Tour
Fascinating people will come back to life at the Sunday in the Cemetery ? Living History Tour which will be hosted by the Society on June 27 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo. Tour participants will be guided through the cemetery to hear the stories of nine people of the past including Phillip Pointon, a successful pottery manufacturer from Staffordhsire, England, Joseph Nedimovic, a bootlegger who was shot during Prohibition, Perliett Carpenter, a young debutante who died too young, and Alma Waite, philanthropist and cousin to the Ringling brothers. Their personal stories of triumph and tragedy will come to life when told by costumed reenactors at the beautiful and historic Walnut Hill Cemetery.
The 2021 Sunday in the Cemetery ? Living History Tour is being sponsored by Johnsen Insurance, Terrytown Plumbing, Willowood Inn, Hill?s Wiring, Baldwin Funeral Services, and Hausmann-Johnson.
Guided groups will begin every ten minutes for the 75-minute tour. Reserved tour times are available online at the SCHS website: saukcountyhistory.org. Tickets are $15 per person with an SCHS member price of $12. Don?t miss this historical event and fundraiser for the Society which only comes along every other year.
