Job Description
Established company is in search of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to provide accounting and tax services for multiple engagements and deliver high quality service. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, as well as several years of accounting software experience and exposure to income tax research and preparation.
 
The position will require the following skills/responsibilities:
 
  • Interpret and prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses
  • Perform tax research
  • Review and/or prepare working papers and tax support
  • Interview clients to obtain additional tax information
  • Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence, and other documents for submission to the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Revenue, or other such requesting entity
  • Maintain and examine the financial records of your designated clients, prepare adjusting entries to accounts and document business transactions
  • Provide consulting and tax planning services to clients
  • Analyze client company structures and activities and advise them on the tax ramifications of business decisions
  • Recommend fiscally advantageous methods to save money
  • Examine accounts for errors, misinformation, fraud, and overspending
  • Act as a consultant in such areas as compensation, benefits, data processing systems, asset protection, and job costing
  • Participate in strategic planning
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines using time management skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Should have knowledge in using desktop calculators, photocopiers, scanners, Microsoft applications (Office, Excel, Word), and also be able to problem-solve
  • Attendance at various networking events
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable in one–on-one meetings with clients (in person and via phone)
  • Physical requirements - this position involves sitting for long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and some lifting
 
This is a full-time position at 40 hours/week starting in November/December with the possibility of part-time hours in October.  Additional hours are necessary during the busy season (January through April). During summer months, the schedule is Monday through Thursday as our offices are closed on Fridays.
