Habitat for Humanity's Shanty Town
Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area is hosting their annual Shanty Town event on Saturday, May 5th – May 6th at the Lodi Fairgrounds. The event brings together teams of area teens from Sauk, Columbia, and Iowa counties, ages 12 to 18, to learn about substandard housing in our communities and raise funds for Habitat for Humanity while spending the night under the stars in cardboard shanties. Shanty Town gives local youth the opportunity to spend a night in substandard housing conditions and realize that it is a real, daily struggle for people in our community and all over the world.
