In the spirit of sharing and caring the First United Methodist Church will host the Annual Baraboo Area Community Christmas Dinner. The Baraboo Area Christmas Dinner is an opportunity for people to gather for a hot, home-cooked meal with mashed potatoes, Vegetables, salads, desserts and beverages. The most valuable trimming of all, however, is other people with whom to share the meal.
The event is the work of numerous churches and individual volunteers. The dinner draws guests of all ages, both individuals and entire extended families. At past dinners, as many as 150 guests have been served.
Volunteers are needed to help prepare the dinner and set tables on Saturday, December 21. Volunteers are also needed on Christmas Day to greet, serve the meal, provide music and help with cleanup. In addition, donations of salads, desserts, turkeys and hams are appreciated. While there is no cost for the meal, a free will offering will be accepted to help over expenses. Reservations to attend the dinner are encouraged. To place a reservation, schedule a take-out order or donate time or food for the event, call the First United Methodist Church office.
